How search ranking works

This page explains how listings are ordered in category and location search results. These rules are prone to change as we improve the experience for both users and business owners; this page will be kept up to date.

Ranking tiers

When you search by category and/or location, matching listings are grouped by plan tier and shown in this order:

  1. Premium listings first.
  2. Verified listings next.
  3. Normal (free) listings after that.

Within the Premium and Verified groups, listings are rotated weekly so that, over time, each listing in a tier gets a turn at higher visibility rather than one listing permanently occupying the top spot.

Relevance to your search (category and location match) always applies first — a paid plan raises a listing's placement among listings that already match; it does not make an unrelated business appear in results.

Free-tier outbound links

Outbound links on a Normal (free) listing pass through a redirect/trust page (for example https://lyp.al/link/…) that asks the visitor to confirm before continuing to the external site. Verified and Premium listings link directly.

Why tiers affect ranking

Higher placement and direct links give paid listings more visibility and stronger backlinks. The paid plans and their prices are described on the pricing page.
